Mechanical Energy

Energy that is stored up is called "potential energy".Water stored behind a dam, and an archer's bow draw an ready to shoot,each has stored or potential energy.Falling water,and an arrow released from a bow , each has moving or "kinetic energy". Potential and kinetic energy are forms of mechanical energy.
